The graphics featured on this shirt were designed by Alx Kujana, a Cayuse-Nez Perce tribal member belonging to the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. He has titled the graphics on both sides of the shirt ‘Ribbons of Life’ due to the frequent use of ribbons in his tribal regalia for both men, women and two-spirit individuals.
It’s true that this shirt is woven abroad and printed in the USA, but it’s also true that Alx resides on his tribe’s reservation in Eastern Oregon and consciously recycles his funds back into the tribe by purchasing tribal food, fuel, fun, fashion, arts, music and crafts from other members of the local tribal community as well as surrounding areas that support tribal endeavors.
